Gast & Palz: Episode 16 - Much Ado About Pirates

  1. This was so funny XD. Especially the popo part. by the way, I found an interesting fan comic called DBNA. It's storyline is one of the best I've seen. Villains are kinda do-overs but have unique personalities. I found it while reading Sorita's fan comic. I've been reading the manga and Kami never helps the martial artist's defeat Piccolo, he probably just watches people have sex up on his lookout and masturabates with his shriveled dangalang.

    1. I've read DBNA before. It's the one about Vegeta's evil twin or brother? The story was a little GTish but the art was really good! Have you ever read Dragonball RN? It's a comedy continuation of GT:

      >he probably just watches people have sex up on his lookout and masturabates with his shriveled dangalang.
That put a really scary image in my head XD.

    2. The story didn't completely follow the entire set of DBGT, but my favorite series was the Aladjinn saga. It was basically A tall buu with a horn and black marks. Dabura was his right-hand man but trapped him and became the demon king. And yup. no one likes Kami's old dangalang. Now we know the REAL reason why king piccolo wanted to get youth XDDDDDD

I don't remember that part. Was that after Vegeta's evil brother in DBNA?

      @CrazyBuu
Ha it's hard to trust a regular businessman and definitely not a pirate businessman.

    5. Yes. The author is CURRENTLY working on that saga but you can only find the pages on deviant art. It was either right after or after the Kecchuppu saga. (Ketchup XD)

    6. Right on then I'll check it out. The art is very good too.

    7. Yup. Not as good as Toyble's DBAF (because toyble used to be an artist for the Dragon ball team :D) but the best I've seen that hasn't had any help of that kind. I loved the concept of SSJ5. There are also two SSJ4 sub forms, the second one looking exactly like a SSJ3 with no eyebrows and such but SSJ4 look. The SSJ5 form is only obtainable by Rigor(Vegeta's twin brother.) and Gogeta at the end of the series. Also, the last villain is a frost Demon, because it was supposed to be that way with Frieza.

    8. >Yup. Not as good as Toyble's DBAF (because toyble used to be an artist for the Dragon ball team :D)
I thought Toriyama drew the entire the entire manga by himself? Do you mean Toyble was one of the artists for the anime?

      >Also, the last villain is a frost Demon, because it was supposed to be that way with Frieza.
I read the other version of AF with Frieza's son who was sleeping or frozen and then somehow released.

    9. Yes to the first question. Actually though, Akira drew the sketches for DBGT, something he was considering of making by himself :/ it would've been A LOT better :D Screw u Toei. Also, the Frost demon is Frieza's Grandfather, who uses the shadow or dark Dragon-balls to become like so strong that it makes RIGOR look like Raditz. (Wait, Rigor already looked like raditz XDDDDDDDD, [Something that the author got annoyed of being told so he made an entire picture with rants in it XD]) You need to make an entire series of just making fun of GT, pointing out its flaws and making jokes in the exact clips :P The haters here would get a kick out of that. I'm not very fond of GT either.

Really that sounds funny is it on his deviantart page?

      >You need to make an entire series of just making fun of GT, pointing out its flaws and making jokes in the exact clips :P The haters here would get a kick out of that. I'm not very fond of GT either.
Well that's Dragonbull GT =P. I wouldn't do a good job with actual video clips since I can't edit that well and it would require a few different voices.

    11. Well I meant getting the pictures and make fun of the actual details, and yes, the ranting of the joke is seen in several pieces of his artwork on deviantart.

  2. Wow, you actually made some sense of the Bojack saga^^
About Yadarat: I wonder why Goku never taught instant transmission to any of his allies. (All the major villains just copied it anyway.)
It looks like Popo is out-pecked.^^

I thought it was weird how the 4 weak Kais were able to trap 5 SSJ-tier villains. If they were already weakened then they had a chance!

      >About Yadarat: I wonder why Goku never taught instant transmission to any of his allies. (All the major villains just copied it anyway.)
Yea that wasn't smart. Gohan, Piccolo would've learned it if Vegeta was too stubborn to give it a try. Also why didn't anyone ask him to teach them?

      Delete
    2. That's what I thought as well. This parody often makes more sense than the original^^

It's funny how in Dragonball hardly anyone ever teaches anyone else their techniques. Apart from Goku on Yadarat and later Goten and Trunks with the fusion technique, it's always either "hey I saw that move once and were able to learn it from that" or never learning it at all. Even though some techniques like destructo disk, special beam cannon or kikoho could have been devasting, if they were performed by someone as powerful as Goku. And of course instant transmission. That could have made all the stalling while Trunks fetches the dragon radar obsolete. (Wait, why didn't Goku fetch it with IT?) Or maybe Piccolo or Gohan could have escaped Buu's absorption with IT. (But to be fair, Gohan was soo holding the idiot ball at the time, he probably wouldn't have thought of it, either.)
Oh, wow, I'm ranting too much here^^"

    3. >It's funny how in Dragonball hardly anyone ever teaches anyone else their techniques.
Yea it's usually only the masters that teach their students. Piccolo taught Gohan Masenko and Master Roshi taught his students the Kamehameha. Maybe they didn't actually teach them but we know where they learned the attack from. Goku was taught by the Yardrats and Metamorians but that's about it.

      >That could have made all the stalling while Trunks fetches the dragon radar obsolete. (Wait, why didn't Goku fetch it with IT?) Or maybe Piccolo or Gohan could have escaped Buu's absorption with IT.
He should've taught Gohan and Piccolo IT during the 3 years of training before the Android saga. "Ok if you're in trouble use this technique to escape". I guess sometimes the author has to ignore the more obvious solution to make the story more exciting. If Goku used IT to fetch the Dragon radar then he wouldn't have shown off his SSJ3. But the kinda made the situation even more stupid because now we know Goku was capable of killing Fat Buu but he wanted to risk the fate of the universe so the kids could become stronger. He could've just killed Fat Buu and then show Goten and Trunks the fusion dance so they could use it in case something happens in the future. That would've been anti-climatic but then again the Spirit Bomb at the end wasn't that exciting either =P.

    4. Yes, the Buu saga had a lot of those strange plot points to keep it going. ^^
But if you try to apply too much logic to DB you end up with questions like: Couldn't two or three goodhearted people who can handle the spirit bomb stay in the RoSaT and take turns in holding it, donating energy, recovering (or using Senzus) and sleeping to get a supercharged Spirit bomb that could destroy all enemies?

      Delete
    5. Wouldn't there be many innocent bystanders if they threw that big of a Spirit Bomb? It's a little confusing because Gohan, a good-hearted person, was able to deflect it but I think the explosion would hurt anyone nearby. In the Buu saga, Krillin and Gohan were blown away when the Spirit Bomb exploded and in the Buu saga Goku didn't want to throw it while Vegeta was in the way. So I guess a good-hearted person can touch the Spirit Bomb itself but they should watch out after it makes contact with the enemy.

      Delete
    6. Casualties? Screw it, we've got Dragonballs!

How about luring the enemy into the RoSaT like Buu or to another planet and IT there? Anyway, the casualties should be better than what the genocidal villains were up to.

About pushing back the spirit bomb, Vegeta may be not pure enough to do it and he couldn't move. Furthermore, I guess, when it hits, the explosion is just a normal explosion with a normal shock wave, that can hit anyone, and if you're close to it, it might kill you, especially when weakened like Vegeta.

      Delete
    7. >Casualties? Screw it, we've got Dragonballs!
Haha good point. Fat Buu was torturing and killing billions of humans and all they said was "No big deal we'll wish 'em back later!"

      >How about luring the enemy into the RoSaT like Buu or to another planet and IT there? Anyway, the casualties should be better than what the genocidal villains were up to.
That would've been a good way to get rid of King Piccolo. It would've been a boring ending to Dragonball though and without a Piccolo Jr Goku would've lost to Raditz pretty fast.

Or recommend the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to Cell as a great place to train then blow the door when he gets in.

      >About pushing back the spirit bomb, Vegeta may be not pure enough to do it and he couldn't move.
Maybe but I think the dumbest part was that Vegeta was alive at the time. If he was already dead then the blast might've wiped him out of existence but he had just been wished back by Porunga so the worst that could've happened was that Vegeta dies again. Goku should've just threw it and wished back Vegeta in a few months.

Didn't Kid Buu just learn Instantaneous Movement? If a giant scary Spirit Bomb was racing towards him I wonder why he didn't think to teleport out of the way. Also it was dumb how Buu forgot about his absorption ability. Kid Buu thought it was a good idea to absorb two much weaker Kaioshin but it never crossed his mind to absorb Goku and Vegeta who were many times stronger? The final fight was really a letdown in my opinion. The best ending I think for the Buu saga would be having SSJ3 Gotenks killing Super Buu.

      Delete
    8. i agree, i hate when characters forget that they can teleport for the sake of plot.but the absorption never crossed kid buus mind since that was basically a self defense mechanism. only super buu was smart enough to use it.

      Delete
    9. But if the Supreme Kais were much weaker than Kid Buu, how could he feel threatened enough for the defense mechanism to turn on? If it wasn't for plot-induced stupidity Buu would've won. Toriyama gave him every useful ability imaginable and he can absorb whoever he wants. The smart thing would've been to absorb Gohan right after he absorbed Gotenks. Then once Goku or Vegeta came, he should've absorbed them too. That way there wouldn't have been anyone left to stand up to him.

      Delete
    10. Using the RoSaT to trap someone was tried with Buu, but for Cell, seeing as he didn't train then, it probably wouldn't have worked.

I'm ok with Kid Buu never absorbing anyone, since he just never met anyone who posed a real threat to him. He never was in danger against Goku, because he could just regenerate.
About the Supreme Kais, we don't really know how strong they were. Maybe they just knew a certain technique that was especially effective against Buu.
But about Vegeta being alive you're right. That was really stupid...
Maybe, if they had made the wish to revive everyone who was killed by Babidi's group or Vegeta, except for the bad guys and hence Vegeta would still be dead, it could have made sense.
About Super Buu not absorbing Gohan at first, he said it himself, he wanted to fight and destroy him.
It's funny how the IT was only used in battle in the saga it was introduced in. After that it was just to run away or chase after people.

Best ending for Buu saga? Phew ... I guess Goku just stepping in to save Gohan, Buu losing Gotenks' power and then being defeated by Gohan could have worked as well (Yes, I'm not much of a fan of Gotenks). Although I liked the idea of making the people do their part. It was something different then always just beating enemies by larger power, that had become so common since the Frieza saga.

    11. >Using the RoSaT to trap someone was tried with Buu, but for Cell, seeing as he didn't train then, it probably wouldn't have worked.
Trapping Cell in there would've worked for a few years. If he ever reached Super Buu's power he could scream his way out.

      >Maybe, if they had made the wish to revive everyone who was killed by Babidi's group or Vegeta, except for the bad guys and hence Vegeta would still be dead, it could have made sense.
Oh that might've happened in Fusion Reborn. Gohan or Gotenks killed Super Buu and they wished back all the good people killed by Buu. Goku and Vegeta stay dead because for Goku old kai didn't give him his life and Vegeta was evil so he wasn't wished back.

      >Best ending for Buu saga? Phew ... I guess Goku just stepping in to save Gohan,
Goku finishing off Kid Buu with a Dragon Fist would've been the best way in my opinion. Imagine the final bad guy in DRAGONball gets killed by a DRAGON-looking attack =D.

    12. I meant Cell wouldn't go in in the first place. He's smarter than the Super Buu of that time.

      Good theory. That could work.

That move was epic, but it was only ever used in the movies, wasn't it?

      Delete
    13. Yea Dragon Fist was only used in Wrath of the Dragon and GT. I guess Toriyama wanted to show that the third time's the charm since the Spirit Bomb failed the first two times.

  3. Bojack and his henchmen were much weakened due to their battles with Demon army that allowed Kais to seal them away into inside of the "prison" planet or somewhere which makes sense.

Did Gohan learned some of Goku's techniques like Kamehameha or Instant Transmission when they were training before Goku died of an heart virus in your comic?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Goku didn't learn instant transmission, since he never went to Yadarat, but I'm pretty sure Gohan knows the Kamehameha.

      Delete
    2. Yea like Hife mentioned Goku never went to Yardrat but he might meet one of them in Other World. Since Gast is strong enough to take care of all the threats, there won't be a need for Goku.

    3. Oh, yeah. I forget about Goku never went to Yardrat in your comic >_<, but thanks for telling me, Hife and Scar-faced Bandit.

    4. king kai could also teach him it like he should have in the first place. would have got back faster and never met frieza in his life probably because there would be no need to go to namek. though that also means the androids would kill everyone, as bad as a guy frieza was he really did goku a favor.

      Delete
    5. You mean King Kai teach Goku Instant Transmission? Or do you Goku using Kaioken to get back to Earth faster?

      Delete
    6. teach instant transmission.

      Delete
    7. I don't think King Kai knows Instant Transmission. Supreme Kai knew Instantaneous Movement where you can teleport anywhere you want but I think he was the only person to do it.

      Delete
    8. in the anime when goku was talking to him he mentioned about the instant transmission technique and that he could have taught him. have to check the manga about that as well.

i actually finished the prologue of my story btw. Goku fans will hate it, i will tell you that right now ^.^

my account on fanfic.net is crazybuu of course.

    11. sorry for double post, i shortened fanfiction.net, out of habit.

    13. that's true, i think ill just keep the paragraph as it is honestly. i don't really care if its a bit out of cannon for goku. i might wait awhile though before uploading it to that site. at least in tell the dumb asses that are flooding the dbm comment section move on. which will probably be impossible now... damn. o well. I think ill do the final proof read when i am not tired and just upload it. it cant be as bad as some of those fanfics on that site after all. ill tell ya then.

    14. It's not that big of a deal. If you compare Funimation DBZ Goku to DBZ Kai Goku, the dialogue sounds a little different for both. Same universe and same voice actor but sometimes the script is just slightly different. So no worries there.
